FARIDPUR: Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has said the upcoming general election would be held in due time under the Awami League government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The minister made the assertions at Kobi Jasim Uddin hall of the town on Friday afternoon while distributing cheques for donations among widows, elderly people and physically challenged.
The programme was organized by Department of Social Welfare, Faridpur. "BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is corrupted leader. She had gobbled up the money of Zia Orphanage. Now, she is escaping Bangladesh to avoid charges of corruption and numerous anomalies. Her son Tarique Rahman is also a convicted person and hiding abroad." Mosharraf mentioned.
Presided by Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Ummey Salma Tanzia, Faridpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Khandaker Mohtesham Hossain Babor, deputy director of Social Welfare ASM Ali Ahsan, upazila social welfare officer Motiur Rahaman spoke at the function.
Police Super Suvash Chandra Saha, and District Awami League President Subol Chandra Saha attended the function as special guests.
